Woman Loses Her Life in Arlington Wrong Way Car Crash

Wrong way crashes are often fatal and this wrong way car crash in Arlington was no exception.  A woman was killed in Arlington when her car, traveling the wrong way, struck a curb and then impacted another car in a head-on collision.

More specially, after the motorist lost control, her car careened into the median, knocked down a light pole and then crossed into oncoming traffic, where it struck another car head on.  The driver was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, but she died from her injuries. The male driver of the second vehicle was taken to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth with non-life threatening injuries.

Wrong way crashes occur in and around Dallas, as elsewhere, for an array of reasons, including but not limited to inattentiveness, distractions with cell phones and other technology, eating while driving, medical emergencies, falling asleep at the wheel and driving while intoxicated.

It is unknown whether any of those factors was at play in connection with this particular fatal wrong way car crash.  Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the crash, and they are investigating it.
